  • Yup Margaret got the ball really rolling. She was trying to scare the coal miners unions in Britain that were holding everybody for ransom. She was promoting nuclear power and threatening to shut down coal and she saw how she could use global warming as just one more tool to this end.

  • Frozen methane??? What are you talking about?? FROZEN methane is pretty hard to find on earth since it freezes at about -182C (296F). How many places on earth are there at that temperature? On Saturn's moon Titan yes there is frozen methane, but I don't think you'll find too much on earth.

  • Great! So if the theory is correct [which it appears not to be based on the recent cooling trend data] we will have more CO2 in the air. Plants love CO2, they grow much faster in rich CO2 atmospheres, which means we will have more plants EVERYWHERE and they will soak up the excess CO2.

  • You're 100% correct. CO2 was many times higher 65 million years ago when the entire planet was tropical and there was more life here than there ever has been since. But don't expect the likes of President Oboma to combine some science and history to make an informed decision.
